4,200 booked for violating lockown during seer's funeral in Kanpur
After receiving news of Shobhan Sarkar's demise, hundreds of people had gathered at Sunauda Ashram of Chaubeypur where he was given a 'Jal-Samadhi' in the Ganga.
KANPUR: Kanpur Dehat Police and Kanpur Nagar police have lodged separate cases against 4,200 people for not maintaining social distancing and obstructing government servants from performing their duty after the death and during the funeral of seer Shobhan Sarkar on Wednesday.
Sarkar alias 1008 Viraktanand Saraswati alias Suryabhan Tiwari, who had dreamt that over 1000 tonnes of gold were buried under the ruins of an old fort of a 19th-century king in Daundiya Khera village of Unnao, had passed away at his Ashram in Kanpur Dehat on Wednesday.
After receiving news of his demise, hundreds of people had gathered inside the Ashram and later at Sunauda Ashram of Chaubeypur where he was given a 'Jal-Samadhi' in the Ganga.
