Ghaziabad: Thousands of migrant workers gather at Ramlila Ground to register for Shramik trains

GHAZIABAD: A chaotic situation prevailed at Ghaziabad's Ramlila Ground on Monday after hundreds of migrants gathered here to register themselves for Shramik special trains, which will leave for different parts of Uttar Pradesh later in the day.

As per the reports, the Ghaziabad distrcit administration had asked these migrants to come to the Ramlila Ground so that formalities like screening and registration could be done before sending them to their respective native places.
The city magistrate and other officials of Ghaziabad administration were also present at the spot.
Following the road accident in Auraiya on Saturday early morning that claimed lives of at least 26 migrant labourers, the Uttar Pradesh government had ordered all the district magistrates to seal the borders to restrict the movement of migrants without proper arrangements.
