Madhya Pradesh: Seven charred to death in Gwalior building fire

A powerful blaze ripped through a three-storey residential-cum-commercial building in Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh, killing atleast seven people including three children on Monday morning. Around 25 people were living in the building.

BHOPAL: A powerful blaze ripped through a three-storey residential-cum-commercial building in Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh, killing atleast seven people including three children on Monday morning. Around 25 people were living in the building.
According to fire service, ten fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
The ground floor housed a paint shop while other two floors are residential.

The incident was reported from Roshni Ghar road near the Inderganj square and the property belongs to Hariom Goyal of Rangwala House.
Five people were charred to death much before rescue operations were initiated. The fire spread so quickly that there was little chance for them to escape.
Some people were rescued by bringing down a wall in the backyard of their house, said police.
District collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh and SP Navneet Bhasin reached the spot on receiving the information and supervised the rescue initiatives.
The deceased were identified as Aryan 10, Shubi 13, Arti 37, Shakuntala 60, Aaradhya, 4, and Priyanka 35.
Hariom, 50, Saket, 36 and Gaurvi 7 were hospitalised in critical conditions.
Cause of fire has not been asserted yet.
