NOIDA: Five cases were reported in Noida on Friday, taking the district’s Covid count to 307. The patients included a 23-year-old man from Gaur City II, who is an employee of the media organisation from where 32 cases have been reported so far.
More than 70 employees of the media group, who have been exhibiting symptoms of the virus, have been tested, but their reports are still awaited.
Officials said over 200 employees have been screened over the past two days and 48 have been sent to various quarantine centres. A health department team visited the office premises on Friday evening to review sanitisation and screening work.
Among the other patients are a father-daughter duo from Gijhore, two men, aged 23 and 36 years, from Sector 4 in Greater Noida. The source of infection for these four cases is unknown. All four had been showing symptoms and got themselves tested at private labs.
Five more persons were discharged on Friday — four from Sharda Hospital and one from Child PGI. A total of 214 patients have recovered so far and the number of active cases is 88. Six other patients were discharged from GIMS later in the evening, but they were yet to be included in the district’s report.
The health department received 72 reports on Friday, including 62 from GIMS and 10 from NIB. Of the five positive cases, one was tested at the National Institute of Biologicals while four others were tested at private labs.
