Dean’s List Selections

• Ethan Keener of Piedmont was named to the dean’s list at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois, during the recently completed spring 2020 semester.

To qualify for inclusion on the dean’s list, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale.

• Darius Moore of Attalla has been named to the Spring 2020 Dean’s List at Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, Kentucky.

The list recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or above for the semester with a course load of at least 12 hours.

• Kelli Rusk of Crossville made the Spring 2020 Dean’s List at Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee.

The university awards Dean’s List honors to students earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher while taking 12 or more credit hours.

• Karley Yesbeck of Gadsden made the Spring 2020 Dean’s List at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri.

The requirements for the Dean’s List are a 3.3 or higher grade point average; at least 12 graded hours for the semester and no “D,” “F,” or “Incomplete” grades for the semester.

Yesbeck is a junior K-12 art education major.

Scholarships

Jay Owens of Southside is one of four recipients of the Full-Tuition Torch Scholarship at Central Christian College in Moberly, Missouri.

The scholarship is worth $37,000 in tuition and fees over four years. The competition included an interview with the Torch Scholars Committee and an essay.

Spring 2020 Graduates

• Christin Rowan of Boaz was among nearly 900 graduates recognized during the University of Kentucky College of Arts and Sciences’ virtual spring commencement.

Rowan received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and sociology.

• Meghan Stark of Ashville graduated May 16 from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire, with a Ph.D. in genetics.

Students are only graduated after the Registrar’s Office has certified that all degree requirements have been successfully completed. Participating in the commencement ceremony is the act of honoring and celebrating academic achievement.

• Three Northeast Alabama students were among the Spring 2020 graduates at Berry College in Rome, Georgia.

They are Dakotah Guest of Gadsden, Billy DeBerry of Gaylesville and Alexandra Morton of Piedmont.
