Gujarat: Truck catches fire on Keshod-Junagadh highway

RAJKOT: A truck caught fire Keshod-Junagadh highway on Monday. According to fire department, the cause of fire could not be ascertained, but nobody was hurt in the incident.
Officials said that the incident occurred near Karja tall gate around 4pm. The truck was coming from Veraval and going towards Ahmedabad carrying 640 bags of soda ash. The entire consignment was gutted in the blaze.
The highway remained was closed for the traffic for few hours due to the incident.
“It took us few hours to control the fire. The police and the fire brigade closed the road for traffic and diverted vehicles to the other road. The driver jumped off the truck at right time.” a fire official said.
