NOIDA: The three development authorities in Gautam Budh Nagar — Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority — will start reopening their offices with rules that reflect the ‘new normal’.
While the Noida Authority office will reopen from June 1, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority office will resume work on Thursday.
The three authorities together handle all civic, industrial and infrastructure work in the district.
With lockdown norms being relaxed, the authority offices are set to get back on track, but with some new and permanent changes.
Some of the changes include complete online management of several services and ban of public entry to many departments.
“We had constituted a team of ACEOs from the three authorities who worked on a ‘new normal’ protocol. There were suggestions and the authorities also worked on various internal processes to eventually start opening up. We are moving to a new paradigm where, just like work from home, people can sit at home and apply for all our services through the portal,” said Narendra Bhooshan, chief executive officer, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (
GNIDA), who is also the nodal officer for handling Covid-19 response in the district.
On Wednesday, the GNIDA released a set of guidelines for its officials. For the staff members and outsiders, thermal screening will be conducted and Aarogya Setu app will be mandatory, along with the use of masks and sanitisers. Officials will be asked not to use air conditioning as much as possible and keep doors and windows open, according to the guidelines.
All public applications will only be accepted online. If an applicant is unable to do so, s/he can visit the GNIDA office and drop the application in designated boxes. The containers would be emptied periodically and applicants will be updated via SMS
For GNIDA, if grievances are not resolved online, people can visit officials only after taking appointment. In case someone suddenly, they will be made to talk via phone or video conferencing with an official from the reception area at the ground floor.
“For transparency, the GNIDA portal will be open for the public to view the status of every service. People can see the applications received, accepted, rejected, pending, pending beyond time and other details. There will be a service number with which people can log in,” Bhooshan said.
In Noida, all property-related applications would be processed online from June 1. People will only be able to meet the officer on special duty and senior officials with prior appointments, if their grievances have not been addressed by junior staffers online.
“This is how our staff will function from now. Now, nearly 10 services, including document verification, OC/CC, transfer, mortgage and other services, are available online. We were working on making the system online but Covid gave us the time to expedite the process. We are making the ‘new normal’ mandatory from June 1 and it will be permanent,” said Ritu Maheshwari, CEO, Noida Authority.
