Cancer patient commits suicide in Villupuram GH
VILLUPURAM: A 54-year-old farmer, suffering from an advanced stomach cancer, committed suicide in a restroom in Government Villupuram Medical College and Hospital (GVMCH) in Tamil Nadu on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Chinnasami, 54, of Virugavoor in Kallakurichi district. He had been undergoing treatment in the hospital since May 13.
Chinnasami was taken care of by his grandson Ajith, 18, in the hospital.

Sources said Chinnasami had been disappointed as he could not get discharged from the hospital and decided to end his life.
A senior police officer said, “Chinnasami had been suffering from severe stomach pain for the last two days and wanted to get discharged. He had gone to the restroom and did not return for a long time. When Ajith went to check on Chinnasamy, he found his grandfather hanging from the bathroom’s window grill.”
The Vikaravandi police registered a case under Section 174 (unnatural death) of the CrPC.
