Bihar: Tejashwi Yadav to leave for Goplaganj on Friday

PATNA: RJD legislators have been asked to come at 10, Circular Road Bungalow on Friday to move towards Gopalganj. Instruction in this regard was given by leader of opposition in the state assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.
A day before, Tejashwi had asked the government to arrest Kochaikot MLA Amrendra Pandey, alias Munna Pandey, who had been named in the triple murder, or else he dared he will go to Gopalganj with his party leaders.
Tejashwi also met party state president Jagdanand Singh on Thursday and discussed the strategy.
Singh said they will wait till Thursday night and if no arrest is made, then they will go to Gopalganj. “It is our responsibility to stand for common people. This government should feel ashmed that they are not arresting a named accused who is openly taking out rally and doing press conference. Government has forgotten its duty, but we as opposition will stand with the people. We are children of Gandhi and not Godse and we will continue with our duty.”
When asked if they have taken permission to go in this lockdown, Singh replied, "Permission for what? Those people take any permission who were openly protesting in front of police on Wednesday and were threatening in the broad day light and were roaming on motor cycles in Goplaganj. There is no government functional at present to give permission. But yes, we will be maintaining social distancing.
On Wednesday, Tejashwi along with senior RJD leaders had submitted a memorandum to Bihar governor Phagu Chauhan raising law and order issue in the state and asked the governor to take appropriate steps. This was in backdrop of recent murders in Goplaganj.
Meanwhile, the ADG (headquarters) Jitendra Kumar told this newspaper that there was no further development in the triple murder case in Gopalganj. “We are taking help of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which has been assisting the district police in collecting the evidences against the accused person in murder of RJD leader Jaiprakash’s parents and his elder brother on Sunday,” he said.
The police had arrested district board chairman Satish Pandey and Mukesh Pandey, who were named accused in the FIR.
Gopalganj SP Manoj Kumar Tiwari said the situation at Hathua sub- divison was under control and STF commandos were deployed. "The police is investigating both the incidents," he added.
