NCR to provide facility to migrant labours within coaches of shramik special trains

Following some sporadic incidents of migrant labours becoming unruly in terms of accepting the help being provided to them by the railways authorities, the Prayagraj division of the North Central Railway (NCR) has now decided that all the facilities including drinking water and food packets would be provided to the migrant labours at their seats within the coaches in which they are travelling.

The authorities took things under control and migrant labours were provided the help, this time within their coaches.
PRAYAGRAJ: Following some sporadic incidents of migrant labours becoming unruly in terms of accepting the help being provided to them by the railways authorities, the Prayagraj division of the North Central Railway (NCR) has now decided that all the facilities including drinking water and food packets would be provided to the migrant labours at their seats within the coaches in which they are travelling.

On Monday, a group of migrant labours had gone astray and looted the food packets, which were kept to be distributed among themselves, at platform number One of the Prayagraj Cheoki station. The next day a similar incident occurred at platform number four of the Prayagraj junction wherein the migrant labours looted the drinking water bottles which were to be distributed to them.
However, on Thursday, the authorities took things under control and migrant labours were provided the help, this time within their coaches.
“We have started giving around 80 packets of packed food to some of the persons at every coach and they themselves distribute the same among the passengers. Likewise, drinking water is provided by bottles and also by an extended pipe to the migrant labours through the window for which help of scout and guide and other volunteers has been taken”, said public relation officer of Prayagraj division, SK Gupta. We ensure to supply additional packets in such coaches which have more than 80 persons so that no one remains hungry, he added.
Several of the high ranked officials of NCR including additional DRM AK Gupta, the chief public relation officer of NCR, Ajeet Kumar Singh and others were present at platform number Nine and Ten of the Prayagraj junction on Thursday and supervised the task of providing food packets and water to the migrant labours. The trains were passing through Prayagraj from Vapi to Barauni and Gazipur.
The CPRO further informed that on Thursday, four trains were operated by NCR to ferry back the stranded migrant labours from Dankaur to Howrah, Govindpuri to Durg and two trains from Jhansi to Gorakhpur carrying approximately 6400 migrants. With these NCR will operate a total 124 originating Shramik special trains ferrying 168644 migrants and other stranded persons.

Till Wednesday, a total of 252506 migrants and other stranded persons have been safely brought back at different stations of NCR in 167 terminating trains and 43 passing trains with stoppage at stations over NCR. These 167 trains were terminated at various stations of NCR like One train each at Sonbhadra, Eath, Manikpur, Chitrakoot and Subedarganj. Likewise,
At Prayagraj Junction (61 trains), Fatehpur (9 trains), Etwah (2 train), Aligarh(5 train), Kanpur (21 trains), Agra Cantt (6 trains), Gwalior (10 trains), Jhansi (4 trains), Orai(3 trains), Banda (13 train), Chattarpur (15 trains), Mirzapur (9 trains) and Tikamgarh(4 trains) have been operated by NCR.
