AHMEDABAD: Gujarat in 24 hours ending 5 pm on Thursday added 367 Covid-19 positive cases, taking the total tally to 15,575.
Out of new cases, 247 were recorded in Ahmedabad, 44 in Surat, 33 in Vadodara, 8 in Mahisagar and seven each in Rajkot and Kutch. With the new cases, now 10 districts in Gujarat have crossed the figure of total 100 Covid-19 positive patients.
Likewise, with 22 deaths in the same time, the death toll for the state is now at 960.
The deaths included 16 from Ahmedabad, 3 from Vadodara and one each from Kutch, Patan and Surendranagar.
Gujarat health department officials said that 454 Covid-19 positive patients were discharged, taking the total to 8003. The patients included 381 from Ahmedabad, 21 from Surat and 12 from Kutch. It's the second consecutive day for the state where the number of patients discharged is more than the new patients, they added.
Gujarat carried out 4185 tests in 24 hours, taking the total number of tests to identify Covid-19 patients to 1.98 lakh.
The number of active patients (6611) got reduced to 42.5% as the discharged patients (8001) form 51.4% of the total patients in the state. Death rate has remained constant at 6.1% with 960.
A total of 3.13 lakh persons have been quarantined in Gujarat out of which 3.05 lakh are under home quarantine and 8,286 are at institutional, government or private quarantine facilities.
