Agweek celebrates 35 years of being a premier agriculture news source amid changes.

This summer, Agweek celebrates 35 years of being your premier agriculture news source, delivering weekly news in print, television, podcast and daily news on the Agweek app, daily email and agweek.com.

With the anniversary and celebration comes change. Agweek's investigative agriculture journalism brings value to the agriculture sector, and we no longer can give that away for free digitally. This month, a membership paywall will be added to agweek.com, which follows other news outlets within Agweek's parent company, Forum Communications Company.

Forum Communications Company, like 96% of American farms and ranches, is a family-owned business. The company is in its fifth generation and rooted in the Upper Midwest of the U.S. While owning a media business is different than a farm or ranch business, the family commitment to delivering news and providing service to readers, viewers and advertisers every week is a connection to my passion for agriculture and farm roots.

Agweek members will receive access to premium members-only content and exclusive members-only perks, and they won't be asked to take in-article surveys. Members will get full access to AgweekTV episodes online and access to Agweek e-papers and archives, along with breaking news alerts and premium email newsletters so you never miss an important headline impacting agriculture and your agribusiness again.

We will be offering specials for those who want to continue to receive Agweek in its weekly printed form, those who want only online membership and those who want both. Print subscribers who haven't already renewed within the past year will receive renewal notices for a special $45 print-only annual subscription this month. Additional membership offers will unveil new ways for you to access all Agweek content, and we’ll be sharing those offers throughout this summer in print, on AgweekTV, on the Agweek Podcast and on agweek.com. Beginning June 4, 2020, an Agweek lite subscription for $4.99 per month will give you access to daily digital Agweek news or an all-access Agweek subscription gets you access to the entire network of Forum Communications news sites for only $9.99 per month.

Two out of three Agweek readers interact with our content through agweek.com, with 70% doing so through a mobile device. We know our readers and viewers value our content and advertising, as our audiences continue to grow monthly. Our commitment to delivering agriculture news, including news from the Upper Midwest as well as matters of national and international interest, has never been stronger.

Our Agweek news team includes five agriculture journalists who live and work in Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota. Joining them in covering the region are contributors from across the country who add depth to our coverage. As part of our growing commitment to agriculture news, we will add a new agriculture journalist to our team this month. We're excited to announce details soon.

Our team takes pride in diving deep into issues, new technologies, choices and opportunities that affect your operation. We're not just repurposing press releases you've already read or publishing the same news you've seen elsewhere. We're covering things that can help your operation continue growing food, fuel and fiber for our neighbors, country and world into the next generation.

No matter your location, I don’t know of another agriculture news organization more committed to the future of agriculture and more focused on delivering agriculture news digitally, in print and broadcast than Agweek.

If Agweek remains a valuable tool to your farm, ranch and business, or if you’re interested in connecting with ever-changing agriculture news, we ask for your support with a digital membership or print subscription this summer. We’ll be here daily, weekly and we hope to be here for another 35 more years and beyond reporting agriculture news across multimedium platforms to you and your family. Thank you for your support.
