NEW DELHI: The number of containment zone rose to 102 in the city with more areas being converted into red zones due to a steep rise in the number of Covid-19 positive cases.
Areas that report more than three Covid-positive cases are contained to check the spread of the disease.
By April 30 the number of containment zones had gone up to 100, but soon the authorities started decontainment of the zones where containment operations were successfully completed and no positive case was reported in 28 days.

After containment, an extensive exercise to check local transmission of cases is launched. People living within the containment zones are kept under surveillance and those showing symptoms of Covid-19 are tested.
