Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday announced that the government on Monday will launch a new app to check availability of COVID-19 dedicated beds in hospitals.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday announced that the government on Monday will launch a new mobile app for coronavirus patients to check the availability of COVID-19 dedicated beds, ventilators in hospitals. Addressing a presser, Kejriwal said, "Delhi is witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases, we accept it. But there is nothing to worry about, I assure you that we are fully prepared. We cannot be in permanent lockdown."

"It is a matter of concern but it is nothing to be scared of. I assure you that your government is four steps ahead of Coronavirus. Out of the total patients, only 2,100 are in hospitals rest are undergoing treatment at their homes. 6,500 beds are ready till date and 9,500 beds will be ready by another week," Delhi CM Kejriwal said.

"Most of the people are recovering, and they are recovering at home. There is no need to panic," Kejriwal added.

"In the past few days, the cases have been increasing and I assure that we are ahead in planning. We have made arrangements even more than what is required," he said.

"Today, 17,386 cases are there and only 2,100 patients are in hospitals, only about 600 more people have been admitted to the hospitals in the last 15 days," the Delhi chief minister added.
