RAJKOT: In a bizarre case, a 65-year-old woman, suffering from cervical cancer, died on Friday reportedly after she applied insecticides on her private parts, assuming that it would relieve her of the pain.
The victim Kunwar Bavarva of Virpar village in Rajkot's Tankara taluka was detected of cancer three years ago. Her son told police that she had stopped taking medicines a few months ago and told everyone that she was recovering well.
"In the last three months, she started suffering from unbearable pain due to infection in the affected parts.
On May 28, she applied insecticide containing monocrotophos, which is acutely poisonous for humans," said investigating officer BJ Parmar, Tankara police station.
The same night she was rushed to Rajkot Civil Hospital, where she died on Friday night.
