Kim Kardashian has taken to social media to express her horror after seeing 'heartbreaking' pictures of a young protester said to have been hit at point blank range with a rubber bullet.
After being moved by the story, the 39-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star offered to provide the injured protester with medical care if she needs it.
Kim re-shared an image of Shannyn Sharyse Nara, 23, with a gaping hole in her forehead where a rubber bullet is believed to have hit her.
Shannyn has blood rolling down her face in the image and appears to be dressed in a hospital gown.
She later alleged that the rubber bullet had been fired by a police officer.
Reaching out to her 65.3 million Twitter followers to try and get in contact with the protester, Kim said the images were 'heartbreaking'.
"This is heartbreaking and so disturbing," Kim began.
"Does anyone know how I can get in contact with her? I would love to help her with her medical care if she needs it."
The millionaire reality star has been applauded by some of her fans for her 'kind' gesture amid the ongoing national unrest.
Shannyn Sharyse said she was recording at the time that she was shot in the face with the rubber bullet during the Minneapolis protest.
On her Facebook, the youngster warned her followers about the traumatic images before providing a statement about what happened.
"Edit: IT WAS DEFINITELY A COP! They hit my friend with the same thing right after when he got in their face for hitting me!"
"As many of you saw last night I protested and at the end of one my videos you can see the after math of me taking a rubber bullet or something straight to the head.
"You can also see that I was not aggressive, I was not looting, I was not breaking anything. I was simply recording. I knew the possibilities of what could happen when I decided to be there last night. AND I WOULD DO IT ALL AGAIN NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
"My forehead has a chunk out of it and the doctors couldn't even stitch it because of the debris. My right eye is swollen and took an hour before I could open it.
"Both of my eyes are messed up from debris that got trapped in them and I have to use numbing drops just to be able to open them. But you know what's worse? BREONNA TAYLOR WAS ASLEEP. BREONNA TAYLOR WAS INNOCENT DO NOT STOP SAYING HER NAME!"
In a second post, she reassured her friends that she is ok and urged people to 'stay as organised as possible'.
It is unclear whether Kim has reached out to the protester so far.
