Gopalganj triple murder: Tejashwi Yadav releases list of antecedents of Kuchaikot MLA Papu Pandey

PATNA: Continuing his tirade against JD(U) MLA from Kuchaikot Amrendra Kumar Pandey alias Pappu Pandey, leader of opposition in the state assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Tuesday released a list of criminal incidents in which the controversial lawmaker was overtly or covertly involved.
Yadav, who along with his mother Rabri Devi and elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav is facing legal action for his abortive attempt to launch his ‘yatra’ for Gopalganj to press for immediate arrest of the MLA for his involvement in the triple murder case, claimed that the JD(U) legislator had several criminal cases to his credit.
The RJD leader further alleged that a BJP worker Krishna Shahi was killed a few months ago in Gopalganj at the behest of the JD(U) MLA. The deceased’s wife Shanta Shahi and her family were denied justice as the police suppressed the fact for obvious reasons.
Yadav told reporters in Patna that a shooter Pappu Srivastava who was arrested earlier in Uttar Pradesh had confessed that Shahi was killed in Gopalganj at the instance of the legislator Pandey. Srivastava had also revealed that an AK-47 assault rifle was in possession of the MLA in question.
Besides, the role of the MLA came under scanner in the murder of a trader Ramashray Singh Kushwaha. The deceased’s brother’s video had gone viral on social media in which he cited the name of the MLA for allegedly hatching the conspiracy of the sensation murder case, Yadav pointed out.
In addition, one Anil Tiwari was killed in Gopalganj recently. Bullets had pierced through his private parts, Yadav said, adding that another BJP leader Shiv Kumar Upadhyay feared threat to his life from the ruling party MLA. The MLA had intercepted Tiwari’s cavalcade and threatened him with dire consequences in full public view.
“The list of the criminal antecedents of the JD(U) legislator is long. I want to know from the state government as how long the SIT will take to come to the conclusion on the role of the MLA in the murder of three members of a family under Hathua police station area last month,” Yadav said.
The RJD leader also expressed his surprise over silence maintained by the state DGP Gupteshwar Pandey in the triple murder case. “Pandey frequently visits the site of occurrence across the state. But in this case, he neither visited the place of occurrence nor released any official comment,” he sarcastically said.
The MLA Pandey, on the other hand, released a video pleading his innocence in the triple murder case. “I am being implicated in the case for political reasons. There is nothing but a well-hatched conspiracy behind it to defame me,” he said in the viral video.
When contacted, Gopalganj SP Manoj Kumar Tiwari said, “Two people, including the MLA’s brother Satish Pandey and his son Mukesh Pandey, have alrady been arrested in the triple murder case. Raids were on to nab other accused who were absconding after the incident."
