Adesh Kumar Gupta becomes new BJP Delhi unit Chief

Replacing popular actor-turned-politician Manoj Tiwari, the Lok Sabka MP from North East Delhi, Adesh Kumar Gupta, a councillor from West Patel Nagar has been named as the new Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief of Delhi unit.

A Bhojpuri actor who holds sway in the Purvanchali community, Manoj Tiwari has been removed as BJP’s Delhi unit Chief after three-and-a-half years at the helm.

The 51-year-old Gupta, who is from the Baniya trading community and who started his political career with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), is currently the member of North Corporation’s standing committee and the biggest challenge for him will be strengthening the state unit. “As far as the state unit is concerned, we will work towards strengthening it. I’m thankful to the party for giving me this opportunity,” said the new BJP Delhi unit Chief.
