HUBBALLI: Three police constables attached to West Police Station of Raichur city tested positive to the novel Coronavirus infection along with a postman and an ASHA worker.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, deputy commissioner of Raichur R Venkatesh confirmed that of the 88 confirmed cases reported on Thursday, three constables deputed for the duty at the quarantine centre established at University of Agriculture caught the infection.

A postman who was working in the limits of the University campus caught the infection and an ASHA worker contracted the disease from her brother he returned from Bengaluru, said the DC.
The West Police station has been sanitised and primary and secondary contacts of the constables are being traced. Complaints of the West Police would be received at the Traffic Police station for time being, he said.
He said 75 cases reported from Devadurg taluk, nine cases from Raichur, one case from Manavi and Sirwar and two cases reported from Lingasugur taluk, he said. Five new containment zones have been created in the district and the total number of containment zones increased to 19, he added.
The deputy commissioner added that of the 75 cases reported from Devdurg, 46 cases were emerged from Kottadoddi and 29 cases emerged from a quarantine centre established at the Degree College on Nagargund Road.
