- This is the first time that more than 1,800 case have been reported in a day in Delhi.
- The previous highest spike in fresh cases 1513 was recorded on June 3.
- Death toll from coronavirus infection has risen to 1,085, and the total number of cases to 34,687.

- Andhra Pradesh reported 182 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
- The overall tally in the state rose to 5,429 while two more deaths were reported.
- The fall in recovery rate over the last few days has been a cause for concern.
- Recovery rate fell from 63.49 per cent on June 2 to 54.67 per cent on June 11.

- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), is effective in preventing COVID-19 infection in frontline healthcare professionals who work in highly exposed environments, according to a study

Tamil Nadu to probe whether Covid-19 deaths in Chennai underreported
- Tamil Nadu has ordered a probe to find out whether there was an underreporting of Covid-19 cases in the state.
- This after a Times of India report quoted unnamed Directorate of Public Health officials assaying it did not report 236 deaths.
- The death register maintained by the Greater Chennai Corporation has added these numbers, the report pointed out.
- TN's health secy said it would probe if there is any discrepancy and add the numbers.

Medical officer at CRPF tests positive
A Chief Medical Officer of CRPF has tested positive for COVID-19, ANI reports. The CMO has been shifted to a private hospital in Okhla. Total positive cases in CRPF now stands at 544, out of which 353 have recovered and 4 died.
