Uttar Pradesh:'Was forced to share 50% salary with mastermind'

LUCKNOW: The Ambedkarnagar police arrested another ‘Anamika Shukla’ who has been teaching at Kasturba Gandhi Balika (Awasiya) Vidyalaya in Alapur of the district since March 2019, from Mainpuri district on Friday morning.
She is Anita Devi, a widow who used the academic certificates of Anamika Shukla to get the job. Mother of a four-year-old, she was arrested from Lakhanpur Jaatmai village under Bewar police station for a case of impersonation lodged with the Ambedkar Nagar police by the BSA.Earlier on June 6, police arrested one more ‘Anamika Shukla’ from Kasganj on June 6. TOI has recently exposed how a host of individuals had used the educational qualification certificates of Anamika Shukla to get teaching jobs at 25 different KGBV of the state. The real Anamika Shukla appeared in Gonda an claimed that she was jobless. She loddged an FIR against unidetifed persons for misuing her documents on Thursday.
Ambedkarnagar SP Alok Priyadarshi told TOI that Anita was arrested in connection with an FIR registered by the BSA Atul Singh on June 6.
‘Anamika quit when summoned for verification’
Singh had stated in his FIR that Anamika Shukla was kept on ad hoc basis as a science teacher at Kasturba Gandhi residential girls school in Alapur in March 2019. But she resigned on whatsApp when she was asked to appear for verification last month.
“Anita is a widow and also has a four-year-old child. We got one-day transit remand from Mainpuri and a team is bringing her to Ambedkarnagar for questioning,” said the SP.
Priyadarshi told TOI that Anita confessed to have got the academic documents prepared in the name of Anamika by one Pushpendra, who lived barely 7km from her residence. While his brother Jaswant was arrested by police on Thursday, Pushpendra is corrently absconding.
“Anita has said in her statement to the police said that she was asked to deposit half of her monthly salary in Pushpendra’s account,” he said.
The Ambedkarnagar police nabbed Anita Devi on the basis of surveillance and some informers who tipped off about her presence in Mainpuri. “We sent four cops including lady constable to nab her,” the officer added.
“Kasganj police had already nabbed Pushpendra’s brother-Jaswant while serach for his brother is underway,” said the SP, Ambedkarnagar.
The first Anamika Shukla was arrested from Kasganj on June 6 and she said her name was Anamika Singh and then Priya and finally Supriya.
