LUCKNOW: The Lucknow bench of Allahabad high court stayed suspension order passed by additional chief secretary of rural development against district development officer (DDO), Budaun, Anil Kumar on March 3.
A bench of Justice Jaspreet Singh passed the order on a writ petition moved by DDO.
The additional chief secretary had placed him under suspension on allegations of not examining eligibility of six ex-servicemen who participated in recruitment of village development officer (VDO) and issued appointment letters to the ex-servicemen who did not possess the requisite certificate in course of computer concepts (CCC) before the date prescribed in the February 10, 2016 advertisement.

His counsel Gaurav Mehrotra said Kumar was posted in Budaun as project director, district rural development agency and was also holding additional charge of DDO. He handed over additional charge of DDO to Ajay Pratap Singh on March 2, 2019.
"The appointment letters to ex-servicemen were issued by Ajay Pratap Singh on March 29, 2019, and as such the petitioner cannot be held responsible," said Mehrotra.
