Only civic body to get results in Thane

THANE: Lab test results of all positive patients in Thane will now be handed only to the civic corporation, and the civic health department will decide the roadmap of treatment for them.
The revision in policy comes after TMC updated its earlier protocol of keeping a check on admissions at private hospitals by taking realtime inputs of a patient’s health status while admitting him.
The rising volume of complaints against nursing homes indiscriminately admitting patients without analysing the need to do so have prompted the move, said officials.
