Odisha reports one more Covid-19 death, toll rises to 15

One more person died due to Covid-19 in Odisha raising the death toll due to the virus in the state to 15 even as 143 more tested positive for the virus increasing the number of total infected so far to 5303.

BHUBANESWAR: One more person died due to Covid-19 in Odisha raising the death toll due to the virus in the state to 15 even as 143 more tested positive for the virus increasing the number of total infected so far to 5303.
“Regret to report that a 46-year-old Covid positive male of Ganjam district passed away while under treatment in hospital for Covid pneumonia,” the health department tweeted.

Another Covid patient died of comorbidities increasing the number of Covid patients dying due to non-Covid reasons to six. “A 60-year old Covid positive patient of Mayurbhanj who was suffering from cancer of the oesophagus passed away due to postoperative complications following cancer surgery,” the health department said.
Among the new positive cases, 137 are people in quarantine centres while six are local cases. The state currently has 1562 active positive cases while 3720 have recovered.
