Lucknow: Own a firearm? Get your licence updated with UIN

LUCKNOW: If you own a firearm, get your licence updated with the unique identification number (UIN) by June 30 failing which the weapon will be deemed illegal from July 1.
According to the district administration, the validity of licence has been extended from three to five years.
Besides, no one can now own more than two firearms. Whosoever has more than three weapons will have to surrender it at their local police station or any firearm dealer and get its licence cancelled.
DM Abhishek Prakash said, "Firearm licence-holders need to generate UIN by filling details on national database and update it on their licences by June 30."
City magistrate Sushil Pratap Singh said, "Users can get UIN updated at collectorate too."
