Anchal Gangwal, tea-seller’s daughter joins Indian Air Force as Flying Officer

Strong determination is what is needed to realise dreams, and this has been proved by Anchal Gangwal, Tea Seller’s Daughter who has recently joined the Indian Air Force as Flying Officer.

The 24-year-old Anchal Gangwal was commissioned into the Indian Air Force (IAF) a few days ago but her journey has not been an easy one as sometimes her father who is a tea-seller did not even have the money to pay for her education fees.

“Her commissioning was a proud moment for our family, but we could not make it (to the Air Force Academy at Dundigal) to see her due to the Coronavirus-induced restrictions,” Anchal’s father who works as a tea seller at a bus stand in Neemuch district. “She was a bright student and also a basketball player. She first wished to join the Air Force after seeing the IAF personnel helping people during the Kedarnath tragedy. And, now her dream has come true,” he added.
