NEW DELHI: Industrialist Naveen Jindal, who is also an ardent devotee of Lord Jagannath, took to Twitter on Tuesday to offer his greetings to the nation on the auspicious occasion of historic Rath Yatra. He shared a picture of himself with his wife Shallu Jindal standing with folded hands besides idols of Lord Jagannath.
"May Mahaprabhu shower his divine blessings on humanity," he wrote.

The Jindals, just like the Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) Chairman, are ardent followers of Lord Jagannath. During every visit to Orissa, the business family plan a visit to the Puri temple.

In 2017, the JSPL innaugrated a Kalinga-style 67 ft tall temple inside Jindal Nagar, which is the township area at Orissa's Angul town. The area of the temple, which spreads over 3.7 acres, took four years to complete. The construction was done using three types of stones – Gujarat's Porbandar stone, Rajasthan's Markana Marble and Odisha's Khondalite.

After days of back and forth, the Supreme Court on Monday modified its restrain order to permit the centuries old tradition Rath Yatra to go on unhindered during the COVID-19 pandemic. There will be no public attendance. In order to prevent any congregation, a curfew-like shutdown has been imposed across Puri district from 9 pm on Monday till 2 pm on Wednesday.
