Coming to Big B’s latest release, Gulabo Sitabo, the film premiered on Amazon Prime Video on June 12.
Gulabo Sitabo makers decided to release the film directly on an OTT platform, instead of waiting for theatres to re-open after the novel coronavirus pandemic crisis. It is the first major Hindi film which saw an OTT release before hitting the theatres.
The film stars Amitabh Bachchan as Mirza, an old man whose sole objective is to get hold of his begum’s (Farrukh Jaffar) ancestral haveli, Fatima Mahal. Ayushmann Khurrana plays the role of Baankey, one of the tenants of the haveli.
