Nagpur: Unidentified man found injured near ATM, dies later

NAGPUR: An unidentified man, in his 30s, was found in injured condition near an ATM outlet close to Lokmanya Tilak MahaMetro station at IC Chowk in MIDC on Tuesday. He later succumbed to the injuries at Government medical college and hospital (GMCH). The glasses of the ATM too was left shattered by unknown persons.
Police said the injured was likely to have got stabbed by unknown persons near the ATM.
It's learnt the man had injuries on his hand and shoulder leading to profuse bleeding.
The purse and mobile phone of the deceased was missing leading to the presumption of robbery attempt while he was being stabbed.
Senior inspector Hemant Kharabe of MIDC police station said he had shifted the man to a private hospital after spotting him in injured condition on the road. "The man was treated at the private hospital but later referred to GMCH where the doctors had declared him dead," said Kharabe.
"The victim was under the influence of alcohol. It's a mystery for us at this point of time as how the man got injured," he said. An offence of murder and robbery has been registered at MIDC police station, said Kharabe.
