AGRA: UP's education department officials, who have been scrutinizing teachers’ credentials in the aftermath of the Anamika Shukla scam, have now found another set of women who landed jobs in government schools by impersonating as Sandhya Dwivedi and Meena Devi.
In the records of the education department, Sandhya and one of the 25 fake Anamikas -- this one caught in Aligarh -- have one thing in common.
They both happen to live in the same Joga village of Mainpuri district. The village is close to where kingpins of the original 'Anamika Shukla scam' live.
While officials in Aligarh, Firozabad and Farrukhabad found that three women were teaching at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), a chain of schools, with Sandhya Dwivedi as their name, in Etah and Auraiya districts, two women had landed jobs as Meena Devi.
This comes days after a fake teachers’ hiring scam was busted in the state. At least 25 women had found jobs as science teachers in various KGBVs by using forged documents in the last one year. The real Anamika, who ironically turned out to be jobless, surfaced later.
Speaking to TOI, Laxmikant Pandey, basic shiksha adhikari (BSA) of Aligarh, said, “During our probe we found that Sandhya Dwivedi’s correspondence address in Joga village was the same as that of one Anamika Shukla caught here. The fake Anamika was later identified as Babli Yadav of Chandanpura village of Kanpur Dehat. She has been arrested. When our team reached Joga, there was no woman by the name of Sandhya Dwivedi.” The main accused Pushpender Singh Jaatav of Anamkika Shukla scam, and Babli Yadav were in a live-in relationship.

According to BSA, the woman was working as a social science teacher in KGBV Vijaygadh by the name of Sandhya Dwivedi, daughter of late Ramashankar Dubey. So, on June 19, an FIR was registered by Vijaygadh police of Aligarh against her. The case was filed based on a written complaint filed by Gyanendra Kumar Gautam, the district coordinator of girls’ education.
Joga village is just 10km away from Nagla Khar village from where Anamika Shukla scam’s kingpin Jaswant Singh Jaatav and Pushpender Singh Jaatav hailed. The duo were working as government teachers on fake documents. Jaswant as headmaster in Kannauj primary school on Vaibhav Kumar documents and Pushpender in Farrukhabad primary school on Sushil Kumar's document. Both Vaibhav and Sushil addresses were given as Mainpuri district.
“We had summoned Sandhya along with her documents, but she never turned up. When we checked our internal system, we found no discrepancy in the marksheet of high school, intermediate and graduation. But after going through her voter ID card, Aadhar and bank account we found that her address was mentioned as Bhasrauli village of Bhongaon police limit. The woman never came to explain about the discrepancy, after which we lodged FIR,” he added.
Following the Aligarh FIR, BSA’s of Firozabad and Farrukhabad also found Sandhya Dwivedis working on the same set of documents. Following that an internal probe was initiated.
After the revelation, all phone numbers associated with Sandhya Dwivedis are switched off and the women are missing. Their services have been terminated in Firozabad and Aligarh.
Meanwhile, in neighboring Etah and Auraiya districts, BSAs found two Meena Devi working on the same set of documents.
BSA Etah Sanjay Singh said, “We were alerted by Auraiya BSA about the alleged forgery in Meena Devi’s case. The one working in our jurisdiction for the last 10 years at Jaithra has more marks in high school and intermediate, but her roll number is the same as of Auraiya one. We have frozen the salary account of Meena Devi until further notice and will soon lodge FIR after a detailed investigation.”
