Maharashtra: Thane reports highest Covid-19 deaths, cases on a single day

THANE: Thane registered highest Covid-19 positive cases and deaths on a single day on Thursday after 264 new cases were added taking the tally to 7,091 and 12 new fatalities recorded by the corporation taking the toll to 245.
The maximum patients on Thursday were reported from Majiwada-Manpada area with 46 cases while the count continued to rise in Naupada-Kopri zone with 42 cases. Municipal officials justified the numbers to have risen probably due to the easing of lockdown but said they were confident of keeping the numbers in check soon.
Officials said that as many as 40,145 samples were sent for analysis to the labs while 39,931 reports were received till Wednesday evening.“The recovery rate of patients here is 53% with 3,606 people recovered and discharged from treatment till Wednesday. As many as 103 patients were discharged on Thursday,” informed officials.
