PANAJI: The two-week monsoon session of the state legislative
assembly will commence from
July 27.
The last 5-day assembly session was held in February to discuss the state budget.
Speaking to TOI, speaker Rajesh Patnekar said that the session was initially planned for three weeks, but has been curtailed due to the pandemic. Patnekar said that citizens will be barred from attending the session.
During the session, certain bills are likely to be introduced by the government.
The opposition will look to corner the government on various issues such as the Mhadei river diversion, mining resumption and the spread of coronavirus.
