45 new Covid cases, 77 recoveries in Jharkhand

RANCHI: The number of persons recovering from the novel coronavirus continued to remain higher than the number of new patients with Jharkhand recording 45 new Covid cases from 12 districts and 77 getting discharged from hospitals across the state. The state’s Covid tally now stands at 2,339 cases, of which 603 are active, 1,724 recovered and 12 have died.
East Singhbhum, the worst-affected district with 356 cases, recgistered 10 new cases and 15 recoveries.
Adjoining district Seraikela-Kharsawan in Kolhan region got 11 cases and no recoveries on Saturday. Bokaro and Gumla recorded five cases each, Chatra and Sahibganj two each, Hazaribag and Ranchi three each and Deoghar, Dhanbad, Giridih and Koderma recorded one case each.
In Deoghar, 20 of 22 patients diagnosed on June 21 and 22 were discharged in less than a week after they were admitted to hospital. DC Nancy Sahay said, “The district has 10 active cases, but they are expected to get discharged soon.”
As per the state’s covid-19 bulletin, Jharkhand’s recovery rate now stands at 73.70%, much higher than the national average of 58.13%.
