Himachal Pradesh power body earns over Rs 109 crore additional revenue

Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited has earned over Rs 109 crore as total additional revenue by exceeding electricity generation targets during the year 2019-20 from its hydel projects. This additional revenue has been calculated on considering National Average Power Purchase cost (APPC) of Rs 3.60 per KWh.

SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited has earned over Rs 109 crore as total additional revenue by exceeding electricity generation targets during the year 2019-20 from its hydel projects. This additional revenue has been calculated on considering National Average Power Purchase cost (APPC) of Rs 3.60 per KWh.
Hydel projects like 126 MW Larji Hydropower Project, 120 MW Sanjay Jal vidyut Pariyojna, 66 MW Bassi Power House Project and 60 MW Giri Power House Project are the major projects of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited.
These projects, along with some others, 22.5 MW Ghanvi-I, 16.95 MW Andhra, 10 MW Ghanvi-II, 6 MW Binwa, 10.50 MW Gaj, etc have performed exceedingly well by generating more than targets set by central electricity authority in the year 2019-20.
Officials said that these all power houses generated 454.999 MW energy against the target of 403.26 MW which is 18.36 % more than the targeted generation. The additional revenue grossed in year 2019-20 on account of excess generation is Rs 36.37 crore, Rs 30.72 crore and Rs 11.3 crore for Larji, Bhaba and Bassi respectively where on Giri and other Power Houses grossed additional revenue of rs 12.56 crore and Rs 18.62 crore respectively.
