PATNA: The GRP arrested two engineers from platform number one of Patna Junction with three bottles of high-end India made foreign liquor (IMLF) on Sunday morning.
GRP SHO Ravi Prakash said they were identified as Manish Jha and Abhishek Jha, both in their late 20s. He said both lived at Vidyapati Nagar in north-west Delhi. They were sent to jail.
Prakash said both were drunk and were creating nuisance around 8am.
“They had reached Patna from Delhi by Rajdhani Express. Both the engineers were speaking fluent English and told the police that they were exhausted with the workload and consumed liquor,” he said.
The SHO said they didn’t answer when asked if they knew about prohibition in Bihar. He said both belong to Benipur under Bahera police station area in Darbhanga district and were scheduled to go there from Patna.
“Both were taken to PMH for medical check-up. Their blood samples were collected and preserved for sending to forensic laboratory for analysis,” he said.
