The Chase fans were left outraged tonight as snooker player Stephen Hendry turned down a record high offer.

Tonight's repeat was a celebrity version of the show, which saw Dr Christian and Helen Lederer appear alongside the snooker player.

Stephen was the last person to play against Paul Sinha, The Sinnerman, who was tonight's Chaser.

Dr Christian brought £5,000 back to the table, while Helen brought back a measly £500.

Throughout the game Stephen told his teammates to go high, as they were playing for charity.

When it came to his turn Stephen managed to get £7,000 in his cash builder.

He turned to the table and Paul Sinha offered him a low offer of £500 and a record high offer of £147,000.

The audience gasped, host Bradley Walsh was gobsmacked and his team were also shocked.

As he turned to Helen and Christian they advised him to stick with the £7,000, as they wanted him to return to the team.

And he told Paul he was tempted by the high offer, but was going to go with the middle offer.

But fans at home were annoyed by his actions, and couldn't believe he didn't go for the big money.

Danmancan said: "147 grand have to go for that!"

Elliottjcornish said: "Only £5,500 in the pot, go for it ffs."

And Nicole Williams said: "£147K wow."

Stephen managed to get back to his team after going for the middle offer.

He and his team managed to set a target of 12 for the Chaser to beat and he did so with ease.

Despite their loss however they all got £1,000 each for their chosen charities.
