NIA finds photos of CRPF camp in ISI handler’s phone
Lucknow: The team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) probing into ISI modules in Uttar Pradesh has found the photographs of CRPF camp in Amethi in the mobile phone of ISI handler, Mohammad Rashid, who was arrested earlier this year.
Another NIA team took Rashid to Amethi where he was grilled for over three hours. Some of the relatives of Rashid in Lucknow, Chandauli and Varanasi have also been questioned by NIA after it recovered incriminating documents.
On January 19, Rashid was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh anti-terrorist squad (UP ATS) from Chandauli.
The case was transferred to NIA in April this year. NIA took Rashid into custody and took him to different places including CRPF centre in Amethi.
According to NIA officials, Rashid clicked a picture of the gate of CRPF centre and passed on to Pakistan-based ISI agents.
The NIA has also found evidences that besides ISI, Rashid was also in touch with defence handlers based in Pakistan.
Rashid had also been forwarding videos and photographs of Kashi Vishwanath temple, Gyanvapi mosque, Sankat Mochan temple, Cantt railway station, Dashashwamedh ghat, Malaviya bridge and Cantonment area in Varanasi to ISI.
