KOLAR: Education minister S Suresh Kumar on Monday said his department has issued instructions to all educational institutions not to hike fee for the coming academic year.
Speaking to mediapersons in Chikkaballapur after visiting a few SSLC exam centres, Kumar said that despite instructions from the government there have been complaints of fee being hiked by some educational institutions.

He said the department has received about 1,200 complaints in this regard and the authorities have issued notices to such schools, which have replied that they would not go ahead with the move.
“An officer from the department has been tasked with looking into allegations of fee hike and he will take suitable action in the matter,” the minister said.
On holding SSLC exams despite stiff opposition from certain quarters, Kumar said certain positive cases have emerged owing to lapses in the guidelines issued by the government.
The minister said II PU results are expected to be declared sometime in July and SSLC results may be announced in the first week of August.
