BHUBANESWAR: In the wake of rising Covid-19 infection among police personnel in the state, chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday charted out a 10-point strategy to be followed in July.
Discussing the matter with district collectors and superintendents of police (SPs) through video-conference, the chief minister laid emphasis on taking care of the health of Covid warriors and to create awareness among them about the virus.
“The
corona warriors are sacrificing a lot for the safety of general public. It is very important that they should be sensitised about taking care of themselves,” Naveen said.
During the meeting the chief minister stressed on keeping the government offices infection-free and zero-infection zones by ensuring strict implementation of the Covid guidelines.
He asked officials to sensitise employees on the dos and donts. The head of the office should be responsible for creating awareness and to take steps for keeping the virus at bay, Naveen pointed out.
The chief minister also stressed the need for zero tolerance regarding those not wearing masks or violating social distancing norms.
“The use of face masks is a must as it plays a pivotal role in checking the spread of the virus. Police must take strict action against those violating social distancing and not wearing masks in public places. After three months now it is time to be tough on the violators,” the CM said.
