BELAGAVI: A 38-year-old techie who returned from England in January died of Covid-19 late Monday night. Two Covid-19 patients have died in the district so far. Sources in the health department said it was not clear how and where he contracted the infection.
"He was fine after returning from UK. He developed breathlessness suddenly and was admitted to hospital," a source said.
"The family has been put under quarantine and authorities are struggling to trace his contact history." So far, 328 people have contracted Covid in the district and 303 have recovered.
The man was admitted to Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences on June 27 with breathing problems. As doctors suspected Covid-19, his swabs were sent.
Govt to shift 24 offices to Suvarna Soudha
At least 24 government offices housed in private buildings - including employment exchange and PWD - in Belagavi wil l be shifted to Suvarna Vidhana Soudha following an order issued on Tuesday. The order said the shifting should be completed before the first week of July. The deputy commissioner has to make arrangements like moving of furniture and other things.
The new arrangement will help the government save rent, maintenance and other charges, the order said.
