735 cases take Bengaluru coronavirus count past 5,200

BENGALURU: For the third time in four days, Bengaluru reported 700-plus new cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday. They were among the 1,272 new cases — the highest for a single day— and seven fatalities reported in Karnataka. Bengaluru’s 735 new cases took its total count to 5,290.
The city has seen 2,759 additional cases in the past four days. Karnataka’s total number of the infected is 16,514.Five staffers of Nimhans, including a doctor, have tested positive. Six staffers and 20 prisoners in Central Jail, Bengaluru, have tested positive, sources said.
