58 new Covid cases, two deaths in Vadodara

VADODARA: Wednesday’s result for Covid-19 tests threw up the highest positive cases in a day with samples of 58 persons testing positive. For the third consecutive day, the number of new cases remained over 50 even as two more persons were declared dead by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC).
The total number of Covid-19 cases has reached 2,338 in Vadodara. The death toll went up to 57 with the inclusion of two more deaths.

Of the two deaths confirmed by the VMC, one had died due to Covid-19 while another person had died due to comorbidities. From the 57 deaths so far, 11 have died due to Covid-19 being the primary cause of death while 45 died due to comorbidities and one person who died due to dengue was also tested positive for Covid-19.
The north zone of the city saw the highest number of new cases since Tuesday night with 16 testing positive. Thirteen tested positive from the south zone of the city, 10 from the west zone and seven from the east zone. The rural areas of the district outside VMC limits witnessed 12 new cases.
The discharge rate of patients also remained healthy with 103 persons being discharged from hospitals as well as home isolation. This ensured that 1,704 persons were discharged leaving 577 persons hospitalized or in home isolation.
