Vadodara range gets cyber crime police station
VADODARA: Cyber crime police station for Vadodara range police was inaugurated at Kothi annexe building in the collectorate on Wednesday by range inspector general Abhaysinh Chudasama.
Vadodara range is one of the nine ranges of the state for which the state government had sanctioned one cyber crime police station each. Vadodara range police has jurisdiction over Vadodara rural areas, Bharuch district, Chhota Udepur district and Narmada district.

In last five years, 147 cases of cyber crimes were registered in these four districts and of these 117 cases were detected.
“Cyber crime cases including that of cheating and defaming people have increased lately and to tackle these cases with technological resources the government had sanctioned this police station. A staff of 50 officials to be headed by a deputy superintendent of police have also been appointed,” said Chudasama.
A scanning machine for citizens’ mobile phones will also be unveiled soon. Chudsama added that this machine will help citizens to check their phones in case they suspect their phones to be affected by malware.
