BHUBANESWAR: The state government on Wednesday decided to cancel the remaining (Plus II) exams that were to be conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education owing to the worsening Covid-19 situation in the state. The students will be marked as per the process followed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
“We tried our best to conduct the pending exams after July 1. But owing to the increasing Covid cases, it is not possible to hold the exams.
The marking of the papers will be done in accordance with the system followed by CBSE,” school and mass education minister Samir Ranjan Das said.
The performance of the students in the papers they had already appeared for will be taken as a yardstick to calculate the marks of the pending ones. For students who had appeared in more than three papers, the average of the best three scores secured in the theory papers will be awarded for the cancelled ones. For students who had appeared in only three papers, the average of the marks of the best two theory papers will be awarded for the ones whose examinations have not been conducted.
