Karnataka: Law minister loses cool again, shouts at farmer
BENGALURU/TUMAKURU: Law and parliamentary affairs minister JC Madhuswamy, known for courting controversies, is in the news again.
A video clip of his alleged boorish behaviour with a farmer leader has gone viral and the minister has been drawing flak online. On Monday, a group of farmers was holding a protest opposite the deputy commissioner’s office in Tumakuru against the APMC Act and Land Reforms Act.
Madhuswamy is said to have behaved rudely with a protester, prompting other farmers to shout at the minister.
This resulted in a slanging match, with Madhuswamy reportedly saying, “You have to listen to me. I am speaking as a minister,’’ and leaving the place in a huff. DC K Rakesh Kumar intervened before the situation got out of hand. Recently, the minister hurled abuses against a woman during a lake inspection.
