FACT Liverpool has announced a staged reopening plan for its Wood Street arts centre that includes its Picturehouse cinema.

Picturehouse will reopen on Friday, July 31 with the galleries following on Wednesday, August 12.

The Garden cafe will remain temporarily closed until further notice.

The opening times have changed with the building opening Monday to Sunday, 12pm-10pm, and the galleries open Wednesday to Saturday, 12pm-7pm; Sunday 12-5pm.

A new free exhibition will launch FACT 's reopened galleries. And Say the Animal Responded? considers what animals might say to us about the state of our shared planet. The show includes a colony of leafcutter ants in the role of DJs.

New health and safety measured are being introduced, which you can read about on FACT's website.

Elsewhere in Merseyside, Tate Liverpool announced it will also open later this month. National Museums Liverpool has yet to reveal opening dates for its venues but has said The Walker and World Museum will be the first to reopen in July. Warrington Museum & Art Gallery will reopen on Wednesday, July 8.
