Wanna know Maureen Lipman’s style secrets? The Corrie actress stuffs her bras with sausages on the set.

She probably didn’t for this Prima shoot, in fairness, as the tidbits tucked inside her lingerie are a means of keeping her co-star –Evelyn Plummer’s pet greyhound Cerberus – under control.

“He leaves the set rather more than we’d like,” says Maureen, 74. “I constantly have sausages stuck in my bra and when I put a cardigan on I haven’t worn for a while, I find myself taking liver out
the pockets.

“He’s such a joy to work with.”

Maureen also enjoys a good relationship with her human castmates, including Alan Halsall, who plays her grandson Tyrone.

She credits Alan as a talented improviser – which helps lighten up the notoriously gritty ITV soap. “I tend to play around a bit,” she says.

Meanwhile, she admits she “certainly doesn’t feel” like she’s in her 70s. “I honestly think all the young men around me think I’m 36 – that I’m a ‘slightly older’ woman – because that’s how I feel,” she says.

Dua Lipa on Boris Johnson

Dua Lipa says she hopes Boris Johnson will become “more human” since his recovery from coronavirus.

The Labour-supporting Don’t Start Now singer hopes the horrific illness, which put the PM in intensive care, will “show him the importance of the NHS” and “make him more human” as a result.

“I wouldn’t wish that fate on anyone,” Dua tells Elle magazine of his sickness. “Maybe we’ll see a positive outcome from this, though sadly on the basis so many lives have been lost.” The PM said he owed his life to staff at St Thomas’ in London and gave son Wilfred the middle name Nicholas in tribute to two doctors who treated him.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon don their masks

Sadly, there are still no Hollywood red carpet events going on at the minute.

But if there were, face masks would undoubtedly be the accessory du jour, now Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon have given them the A-listers’ seal
of approval.

“Wear a damn mask,” encouraged Friends star Jennifer, of this season’s must-have item.

Demi Moore went left-field with her “wear a mask” advice, modelling this beauty treatment – most people got the message.
