Holiday closings for the Fourth of July
Friday is a state and federal public holiday in observation of the Fourth of July, which is Saturday.
• Federal, state and municipal offices are closed. State parks are open.
• Libraries are closed.
• Post offices are closed, although Express Mail, special deliveries and perishable items will be delivered.
• Banks and credit unions are closed.
• U.S. financial markets are closed.
• Southeast Area Transit District buses will be offering regular day service on Friday but will not offer services on Saturday; regular day service will resume on Monday.
• Shore Line East and Metro-North will operate on a weekend/holiday schedule Friday through Sunday, July 5.
•Department of Motor Vehicles offices are closed.
•Connecticut Lottery Corp. headquarters is closed. Regularly scheduled lottery drawings will be held.
