With 22,771 new COVID-19 cases, India records highest single-day spike

The highest single-days spike in Coronavirus cases with 22,771 new patients recorded in the last 24 hours, India’s tally has reached to 6,48,315. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, 18,655 have been reported so far, said the Union Health Ministry this morning, July 4.

Also, the data shared by the Union Health Ministry states that the number of recoveries in India stands at 3,94,227, with 60.80 per cent recovery rate. Presently, there are 2,35,433 active cases of Coronavirus infection in the country.

In recent development it has come to the forefront that the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is fast-tracking efforts to develop “Covaxin” in partnership with Bharat Biotech International Limited. It is the first made-in-India Coronavirus vaccine that is likely to be launched by August 15.
