This weekend saw hundreds of bars and restaurants across Liverpool reopen their doors for the first time in months.

The hospitality industry was temporarily shut down when the coronavirus hit and in the months since, many businesses switched to takeaway and collection.

While venues were allowed to reopen from July 4, many chose to delay plans in order to miss the rush of customers and will instead reopen this week.

For some businesses this has been to have time to refurbish or make changes in order to adhere to Government guidelines, but for others it’s a matter of not feeling ready to open.

We’ve taken a look at all some of the Liverpool bars and restaurants you can look forward to seeing open this week.

Hanover Street favourite Head of Steam chose not to reopen last weekend and instead shared its alternate plan.

Its team tweeted: “So the team are hard at it preparing our venue to reopen on the 9th July!

“We can’t wait to welcome you back and have put in measures to ensure our staff and customers are safe.

“We will be table service and takeout only in accordance with guidelines. See you all soon”.

Mowgli Street Food, Water Street and Bold Street

Mowgli boss Nisha Katona confirmed on Facebook that her restaurants would reopen from July 6 with bookings open now.

In a post on Facebook, Nisha wrote: “Getting ready to set sail.....6 July and for us we start at carte blanche and are grateful for every one of you who book.

“New beginnings and leaner and nimble we must be.”

On July 4, Mowgli reopened for just a few hours, offering limited spaces, in a surprise move.

Gusto, Albert Dock

Gusto has announced it will be reopening its Albert Dock and Heswall restaurants from July 6. Like other restaurants, changes have been made to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Gusto will only be accepting online bookings and inside restaurants, layouts have been changed with screens added and a one way system in place. Customers will be given single use menus, and Gusto will only be serving food from one menu all day, with a limited number of dishes on.
